A Tom Duggan hat-trick fired Manchester Phoenix to an impressive 5-1 victory over Basingstoke Bison away in Hampshire on Saturday.
Duggan open the scoring for Phoenix after veteran Steve Moria gave Basingstoke the lead in the first period.
Jaroslav Spelda returned to action having been out with an infected ankle, but the player-coach Tony Hand and forward Steven Wallace were unable to ice.
Injuries however didn’t prevent Phoenix going in ahead at the end of the first period with Duggan scoring his second of the night.
The differential was doubled in the second period as Duggan completed his hat trick and goals from Ciaran Long and Ladislav Harabin put Phoenix 5-1 up before the end of the session. A goalless third period handed Phoenix a vital away win.
Tony Hand will be hoping for a 4 point weekend as his side entertain the Slough Jets in Altrincham on Sunday.
