Injury-hit Phoenix continued to pick up points on the road with victory in Peterborough last  night.

Slovakian forward Juraj Faith scored two-goals to inspire Tony Hand’s men to a 4-3 victory but they were hanging on in the final period.

“The guys played really well tonight just like they did against Guildford,” said Hand.

“They battled hard and it was good to get something out of the weekend.

“Peterborough is a tough place to come and win and we were in control for most of the game.

“They scored a couple in the last period which made it a bit nervy but we got the job done.

“Juraj scored a couple of good goals and had a solid game. It’s good for the top guys to get on the scoresheet. It will do his confidence good and hopefully he will kick off from there.”

Phoenix went 3-0 up with Tom Duggan opening the scoring in the second minute.

Then Faith hit two goals in two minutes at the start of the second period to put Phoenix in command.

Richard Bentham pulled a goal back but Phoenix maintained their superiority with a Slava Koulikov goal to lead 4-1 going into the final period.

The Phantoms staged a fightback with Nathan Pollard reducing the arrears and Bentham adding his second nine minutes from time.

But Phoenix managed to hang on for a much-needed victory.
