Netminder Steve Fone took the plaudits as Phoenix returned to winning ways against Sheffield Steeldogs.
The in-form goaltender was unbeatable as Tony Hand’s men scored three times in the third period to take the points against their Yorkshire rivals.
Phoenix’s nine-match unbeaten record was broken on Sunday with defeat in Guildford but the English Premier League champions are determined to go on another run in pursuit of the title.
The first two periods were goalless but once Tom Duggan had broken the deadlock three minutes into the final period Phoenix took control.
Ciaran Long made it 2-0 in the 49th minute before Slava Koulikov wrapped it up two minutes later.
Phoenix are back in action at the weekend with just one fixture, away to Milton Keynes on Saturday.
The dates for the League Cup semi final games against Guildford Flames have been announced.
The first leg will take place on Saturday 18th February in Altrincham (6pm).
The second leg will be the following Wednesday, 22nd February, at Guildford (8pm).

Phoenix only have one game this coming weekend away to Bracknell Bees.
The away game with Milton Keynes and teh home game with Swindon are on Sat 4 Feb and Sun 5 Feb respectively
