Ben Wood grabbed the game-winning goal as Manchester Phoenix made it eight wins in a row.
With the game all-square at three apiece going into the final period the 23-year-old from Macclesfield scored the breakthrough goal.
Further strikes from Jaroslav Spelda and Ladislav Harabin secured the points for Tony Hand’s men.
“The guys played well, are battling hard and working as a team,” said the Phoenix player-coach.
“We are getting goals from right across the team and that’s what we need.
“Tom Duggan scored the first two goals and they definitely got us going and was a good team effort.
“I don’t want to single anyone out, other than perhaps Ben Wood who got the game winner, because everyone played their part.”
Phoenix moved to within four points of English Premier League leaders Guildford who lost to Slough while Peterborough beat Sheffield leaving Phoenix in joint third with Milton Keynes.
Duggan, back from, injury, scored both Phoenix goals in the first period either side of an Adam Carr strike.
Juraj Gracik levelled for Milton Keynes with a powerplay goal before Juraj Faith restored the Phoenix lead.
But it was a close-fought game and Nick Poole’s team equalised for a second time through Grant McPherson.
Wood scored a rare goal to put Phoenix in front again five minutes into the third before they forged further ahead with two spectacular strikes.
The first was a vicious slapshot from Spelda on the powerplay and the second another rocket from Harabin.
